cistern and tank remediation services

The remediation of cisterns and tanks prevent the leakage of pollutants and hazardous substances, which tend to corrode the walls and are therefore dispersed into the environment. The personnel of Labromare of Livorno restores the containers and carry out all the final safety tests to prevent the occurrence of environmental risks.

Tanks at larger establishments

Labromare has been a leading company in the remediation of large tanks at major national establishments. It is equipped with the most modern equipment for sludge suction, the heating of the product collected and very high pressure washing.

Underground and above ground cisterns

Remediation operations can be carried out on both underground and above ground cisterns. The Labromare personnel perform a series of targeted operations, including cesspit washing at walking pace and necessary sludge suction if materials are very dense. Finally, the staff with masks and respirators perform the washing and scraping activities of the interior walls and check for the presence of flammable vapours. The technicians also carefully monitor the thickness of the sheet metal of the tank in order to identify damage or corrosion.

Inertization of tanks

The remediation of cisterns and tanks concludes with the so-called inertization, namely improving the safety of the containers. This process does not involve the extraction of underground tanks and consists in filling the tank with inert materials, usually soil, gravel or sand. The conclusive leak tests are performed with a particular nondestructive ultrasonic system, called the S.D.T. method

ultrasonic thickness tests

Measurement of thickness of the sheet metal of underground and above ground tanks through qualified and certified personnel, using quartz probe instrumentation.

Pressure testing

Non-destructive testing on cisterns and tanks using ultrasonic system (S.D.T. Method) recognized by UNICHIM and subsequent release of appropriate certification, with technical report and test charts.
